Next to the Sun Dance the Tobacco Ceremony was most important for the Apsaroke. Tobacco was a sacred plant regarded with awe by the Native Americans of many tribes. Tobacco would possess power to bless or cause harm to people. The seeds would never be planted without first consulting the spirits.
