Plate 711 A Foggy Day - Kotzebue
Portfolio, 18 x 22 inches
In this photograph by Edward S. Curtis a group of Native Americans from the Kotzebue tribe are sailing and paddling a boat into a vast waterway. The boat is beautifully constructed. The lighting in this piece is soft and almost foggy giving the same sort of feeling as the piece, “The Vanishing Race” where the subjects begin to disappear. This photogravure was taken by Edward Curtis in 1928 and is on display at our Aspen Art Gallery.
