In this picture by Edward S. Curtis a young Zuni girls poses for the camera. She is heavily adorned with necklaces, including squash blossoms and beads of various types. She has a short and stylish haircut and is wearing a woven blanket. You can also notice a silver bangle and ring. This photogravure was taken by Edward Curtis in 1903 and printed on his finest of materials, Deluxe Japanese Tissue paper. An original vintage photogravure of “A Zuni Girl” is on display in our Aspen Art Gallery.
