Plate 561 Shuati - Sia
Portfolio, 22 x 18 inches
This Sia woman is pictured outside an adobe hut. The walls are cracked but sturdy and there is a partially visible window which appears to be paned with glass. She stands with a stunningly beautiful earthen vessel upon her head and many squash-blossom necklaces. Her dress is typical of a Sia woman and includes a long dress and white moccasins. This was photographed by Edward Curtis in 1925.
