Edward S. Curtis - Gray Bear - Yanktonai - Vintage Photogravure - Volume, 12.5 x 9.5 inches - Born in South Dakota in 1845. When fourteen years of age he joined a war party, but achieved no honors. He fought against the Hidatsa, running down, while mounted, a horse less warrior and counting first coup. In another raid against the Hidatsa, he successfully captured nine tethered horses on a dark and stormy night.
