Photographed in 1907 by Edward S. Curtis, Crow dog was a Brule sub-chief who is noted to have once murdered Spotted tail as the result of a feud involving jealousy and politics.
The Brule tribe was a subset of the Lakota or Teton Sioux. Located in North and South Dakota or Montana.
