Preforming for the Ceremony of the Snake and Antelope fraternities, the best known of the Hopi ceremonies and a very incredible performance. It is a 16 day festival and is a dramatized prayer for rain. Pictured here is the snake chief for the ceremony Sikyaletstiwa photographed by Edward Curtis.

This photogravure was taken in 1907 by Edward S. Curtis. The piece was printed on Japon Vellum and is available for sale in out Aspen Art Gallery.
