Pictured here by Edward S. Curtis is a Hidatsa warrior Long-time Dog in full regalia. He would have been around 58 in this image having been born in 1850. He appears to be holing a bow which would be used for hunting and in battle.

This photogravure was taken by Edward S. Curtis in 1908 and was printed on Dutch Van Gelder Paper. Curtis used this image for his fourth volume of the North American Indian and it is now available for sale in our Aspen Art Gallery.
