Edward S. Curtis - Plate 614 A Zuni Woman - Vintage Photogravure - Portfolio, 22 x 18 inches - This Zuni Woman seems fairly young and has chosen to have her face almost hidden in the draped brown material around her face and body. She looks directly into the camera and holds a large vessel upon her head. This vessel likely contains food for an intermission during a ceremony. A woven yucca ring helps her balance the large full vessel on her head without having it tip over. This photogravure was taken by Edward Curtis in 1903 and is available at our Aspen Art Gallery.
