Edward S. Curtis - Cree Fishing Camp - Vintage Photogravure - Volume, 9.5 x 12.5 inches - Cree people used s dip-net in the winter months and a gill-net in summer to fish with. They caught maskininge, whitefish, lake trout and wall-eyed pike-perch which they would often freeze and preserve. Spearing fish was another method generally done by the males of the tribe. This image shows a group of Natives at camp either before or after a day of fishing. <br> <br>Taken by Edward S. Curtis in 1926 this image was printed on Japon Vellum paper. It is now on display in our Aspen Gallery.
