Edward S. Curtis - Ring Thunder - Brule - Vintage Photogravure - Volume, 12.5 x 9.5 inches - Born 1840. At eighteen accompanied a party under Knife, against the Pawnee. He himself led twenty-three war-parties, all against the same tribe. He counted coup once, was never wounded, nor did an enemy ever strike him. <br> <br>Ring Thunder was 67 when he had this photograph taken by Edward S. Curtis. Born in 1840 he was an accomplished warrior and led 23 war parties. He was never wounded in battle or even ever hit by an enemy. When he was 33 he was elected chief of the Brule tribe. <br> <br>This photogravure was taken in 1907 by Edward S. Curtis. The piece was printed on Dutch Van Gelder and is available for sale in out Aspen Art Gallery.
