Edward S. Curtis - Plate 231 Flathead Camp - Vintage Photogravure - Portfolio, 22 x 18 inches - Taken by Edward S. Curtis in 1910, this image depicts a small camp tucked into the trees in what could have Washington, Idaho, or Montana where the Flathead resided. The flathead tribe were known to have many horses which resulted often in invasions by less fortunate tribes. This atmospheric piece was printed in 1910 by Edward S. Curtis for his North American Indian project. The piece is printed on Japon Vellum and is for sale at our Aspen Art Gallery.
