About Mia Valley

Mia Valley, founder and owner of Valley Fine Art at the Wheeler Opera House in downtown Aspen, began her career in the art world in her early twenties when she was introduced to the Native American photography of Edward S. Curtis. More than two decades later, her gallery has one of the largest Curtis collections in the country.

Valley is the principal consultant/curator to many of the major private Edward Curtis collections, and an Edward Curtis advisor to major museums, including Western Heritage in Oklahoma City. In 2005 she was called upon to conduct an identification and valuation of the Edward Curtis estate.

Valley is also a long respected dealer of works by deceased artists. When building an important collection, Valley goes to great lengths to find and place pieces focusing on quality, condition, and provenance. mia@valleyfineart.com
